The West Michigan Aviation Academy Girls basketball team fell short on the road Saturday afternoon with a 51-27 loss to Alliance League foe Holland Black River.
The game was a re-scheduled date after the original contest was snowed out.
The Aviators (6-7) kept it interesting throughout the first half, fighting to a 28-17 deficit at half time, but were unable to mount much momentum in the second half. The River Rats built on the lead and led 42-23 heading into the final frame.
Bre Holmlund and Marissa Baas both led WMAA with six points each while Sierra Greer finished with five. Makenna Gould added three points while Aliesje Knight and Vixie Moore added two apiece.
