Junior point guard Sierra Greer fueled West Michigan Aviation Academy’s girls varsity basketball team to a hard-fought 45-32 victory on the the road Friday evening.
Greer finished with nine field goals, one of which was a 3-pointer, to go with seven steals and six rebounds in a game where both teams struggled at times to put the ball in the hoop.
The Aviators (4-6) built a 13-6 lead after the first quarter and carried a 25-14 advantage going into the locker room at halftime. However, the Knights would respond in the third quarter and whittle the lead down to just five, but WMAA was able to respond and maintain a small cushion the rest of the way.
Freshman guard Audrey Mileski was another notable offensive force for WMAA, finishing her night with 12 points as she ate up many of the offensive rebounding opportunities to finish with a team-high 14 boards.
Bre Holmlund finished with six points and four steals while both Vixie Moore and Grace McConnon notched four points each in the win. Moore had nine boards, as well.
