After a hot start, the West Michigan Aviation Academy girls basketball team was unable to keep pace with Tri-unity Christian, falling 39-30 on Monday night at home.
The Aviators sprinted out to a 9-0 lead and held a 9-4 advantage after the first quarter. The lead evaporated and turned into a 20-16 deficit at the break and WMAA was unable to find traction the rest of the way.
Sophomore Sierra Greer finished with nine points in the loss while senior Aliesje Knight added seven points and six rebounds. Juniors Vixie Moore and Makenna Gould both had six points apiece.
Sophomore Alex Smith dropped in a bucket to finish with two points. The Aviators finished conference play at 2-5 in the Alliance League and dropped to 7-11 on the year.
