All four seniors for the West Michigan Aviation Academy girls’ varsity basketball team took to the floor to open their final home game on Tuesday evening.
And, all four were out there again, at the end, when the final buzzer sounded on a 49-12 victory over Wyoming Lee, capping off their final days playing in the WMAA gym.
Tuesday night’s Senior Night was designed to honor WMAA’s four seniors — Aliesje Knight, Ingel Tucker, Jennie Losinger and Marissa Baas.
Knight and Tucker have been mainstays with the program for the last four years, while Baas and Losinger lent their talents to the squad this year alone. All four were honored at a ceremony directly following the win.
And, all four saw plenty of action in the game as the Aviators dominated the contest. They opened a 19-3 halftime lead and continued to pile on from there.
The four seniors had plenty of help, too, as all 14 available girls on the roster got in on the action.
Sophomore guard Sierra Greer had a strong offensive game for WMAA, leading all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-16 shooting from the field and a 3-for-4 performance from the free throw line. She also had a pair of assists.
Knight left her home floor for the final time with seven points to go along with seven boards.
